A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes directly behind the earth into its shadow. This happens only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are exactly aligned, with the Earth in the middle. A total lunar eclipse only occurs with a full moon.  Here – on its way to a total eclipse – three mother-of-pearl discs cascade into a single dark mother-of-pearl moon at the bottom.  Aptly, the color tone of the shell varies depending on the nature of the light it is in. This pendant hangs on a lush, adjustable satin cord so that it can be worn high on the neck, long, or anywhere in-between.
